Light Photography

Just read this article on light photography, something I've never done but can't wait to try in the near future. It seems to have endless options, and would never be a dull shoot.

I just read this article about portrait photographer Elsa Dorfman. It's not a very in-depth article about the technical aspects of portrait photography but it does emphasize the importance of the people skills required of the photographer to be truly successful. It also discusses environmental portraiture, which is part of our assignment, and lighting ideas if a studio is not available to the photographer.

Portaits

I just started my last semester at Rocky Mountain College, an incredibly bittersweet feeling. One of the classes I am taking is a photography class and already I know it will be a great experience, even if I do feel a bit in over my head. Our first assignment will be studio portraits in groups, so I've been looking at different portraits on Google for inspiration and to focus on lighting. I am trying to determine what the light set-up might be for each photo I come across, which is what we did in class on Thursday.
